Carol Newell
Through her work with Endswell Foundation and Renewal, Carol Newell has established a life’s work as a social entrepreneur and philanthropist, placing over $60 million in organizations and businesses working toward sustainability in BC.
Carol is also the co-creator of PlayBIG, an initiative to encourage others with wealth to activate their resources for social change.
Ms. Newell is an active member of Hollyhock Foundation, the Threshold Foundation, Canadian Women’s Foundation, Women Donors Network, Investors’ Circle, Social Venture Network, and the Wealth & Giving Forum. In 2007, she was appointed a Member of the Order of Canada. In 2008 she was honoured by her Alma Mater, St Lawrence University with a Doctor of Humane Letters.
James Morrisey
Jim is a Senior Partner of Ernst & Young and a leading expert in cross-border and charitable tax matters. He currently heads the national tax services for the Canadian tax practice of Ernst & Young, including the areas of Tax Solutions, Tax eBusiness, communications and quality control. He is a financial advisor to Renewal, Treasurer for both the Endswell and Tides Canada foundations and Chair of the Sage Foundation.
Jim has authored publications in the field of taxation, lectures extensively across North America on the topics of taxation and finance, and serves on the boards of several prominent charities in Canada.
Drummond Pike
Drummond founded the U.S. Tides Foundation in 1976, and continues to serve as its President. The Tides Foundation is a grant-making public charity that sponsors several hundred donor-advised funds, initiates grant-making collaboratives in important areas of concern, and conducts a management program for independent foundations.
Drummond currently serves on the Board of Directors of Working Assets, and was among its founders. His service on non-profit Boards includes: America's Charities, Island Press, Environmental Working Group, Tides Canada Foundation, Sage Foundation, and Social Venture Network. Drummond serves as Senior Advisor to Renewal. Drummond is a licensed commercial river guide in the Grand Canyon and lives in Mill Valley, California.
